Mraz F1rst!
“Now I want to talk about the people closest to me: Me! Me! Me! “
That’s the example set for us—in politics, on social media, and in the kindergarten WhatsApp group. We live in a society full of winners, where everyone wants to be first—no, must be first. Anyone who comes in second has already lost, been left behind, fallen by the wayside.
These forces are also at work on Thomas Mraz, and so the motto for him now is: MRAZ FIRST!
Yet he was rarely—very rarely—actually never—the first to do anything.
It’s high time that Mraz, in his first solo show, faced his big questions: Is he aiming to become president of the allotment garden association? Is he opening his own sausage stand, exactly as he remembers it from back in the day? Is he old enough yet to apply for the “corridor pension”? Is he a well-traveled cosmopolitan or a working-class guy from Favoriten? Or perhaps both?
And most importantly: Is he really as selfish as everyone else?
